Clay Panther Sculpture Demo p. 8 - Fixing a Broken Clay Sculpture part 2

When it comes to finishing the armature holes, it gets a little tricky. It will take many more applications of body putty, sanding and smoothing between each application.

This is about the fourth application of body putty. Once it is dry I'll give it one final sanding.

 Smoothed out and finished.

On this sculpture, I made the clay base with a texture. This part will not need to be smoothed down between applications - leaving it rough will make it look much better.

Once again, it took about four applications of body putty to get it completely filled in. I etched lines in the body putty so that it would match the rest of the clay base.
